The road ahead may be challenging, but you will feel at ease knowing our team at Shiloh Hospice is here to support you. Providing comfort is our mission, and we are driven by compassion in everything that we do. We’re confident that you’ll feel relaxed with the knowledge that our capable team is overseeing your loved one’s Orland Park hospice care

What Does Hospice Care Involve?

Hospice care is a specialized type of care provided to those who are approaching the end of life. Patients who have a terminal or life-limiting illness that will lead to death within six months or less are eligible to receive hospice care. Their physician must order the care and will help ensure that the patient receives the support that they need. Hospice encompasses a wide range of needs and upholds the patient’s physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. It can be administered wherever the patient feels most at home.

At Shiloh Hospice, we combine various facets of care to support the patient’s unique requirements. Our nurses and physicians work together to help the patient feel as comfortable as possible by managing their symptoms. We provide specialized medical equipment, so you don’t need to get them yourself. Hospice care also addresses you and your loved one’s emotional needs, and we provide bereavement counselors and social workers who can help relieve many of the stressors related to the end of life. The process is never easy, but together, we can ease your worries so you can focus on spending time with your loved one.

Our Approach to Orland Park Hospice Care

Shiloh Hospice believes that compassion is the foundation of all aspects of hospice care. No matter how we are serving you—whether we are administering care to ease your loved one’s breathing difficulties or assisting caretakers with errands and other duties—we do so with the greatest care possible. We pay close attention to your needs and are sensitive to your unique worries and fears. The end-of-life journey is challenging for many reasons, and you may not know what lies ahead. We aim to clarify the future by providing dependable care to help your loved one feel as comfortable as possible.

First, we consult with you and your loved one to determine the kinds of services that may be most beneficial. We have a hospice chaplain who offers spiritual support during this time, and we also have a non-denominational chaplain on staff as well. Our counselors, social workers and volunteers help support the family’s emotional needs and can perform various duties to make your life a little less hectic. Allow our volunteers to run errands for you to give caretakers a break. We can help you with the grieving process, too, and answer big questions about death. No matter what your exact needs look like, we’ll support you however we can.
